LEGO at the Library Wednesdays - 3:00-4:30pm
Activate your creativity and imagination, building with library LEGO, at the Carnegie Library after school. DUPLO blocks will also be available for our youngest patrons!

Great Stories Club for Teens: Sponsored by the Montague Libraries thanks to a grant from the American Library Association. Hosted by The Brick House and TFHS Library.

Great Stories Club Kick-Off - The Brick House, Saturday, September 23 12:00-1:00pm.

  • Pick up copies of the books.
  • Find out about how the GSC will work and get info about upcoming dates and locations.
  • Lunch will be served!

Youth Advisory Committee Meetings 4th Fridays - Carnegie Library, 4:00-4:45pm
Sept 22 - Oct 27 - Nov 17 (due to the holiday). Youth ages 11-16 are invited to join the YACers to meet monthly at the Carnegie Library to make decisions, volunteer, plan programs, meet new people and make a positive impact in the community.

Falls Fest - Along Avenue A in Turners Falls - Saturday, October 21 1:00-6:00pm
This year the Falls Fest in downtown Turners Falls celebrates our neighbors and local businesses with family activities, good food, and great music. In partnership with the Great Falls Discovery Center, you’ll find family activities along Avenue A near the center and on the grounds. Enjoy crafts, scavenger hunts, and an orienteering adventure. Join Ezekiel Jakub of Conservación Panamá to learn how to use a map and compass together to stay safe in the woods! From 2:00-3:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Center enjoy an “Awesome Art in Motion” dance performance with Great Falls Creative Movement (rain date for the dance performance is Saturday Oct. 28).
Music at Peskeomskut Park, Spinner Park, and off of Third St. in the Voo parking lot,
Family activities near the Discovery Center, arts vendors and art activities in front of the Shea,
Various activities and food specials in front of participating businesses on the Avenue including the new bookstore, Swansons Fabrics, Turners Falls Pizza, Harvest, and more.

Halloween Party Carnegie Library - Saturday, October 28 11:00am-12:00pm
Join us for some spooky fun at the library. Children of all ages and their caregivers can enjoy a scavenger hunt, make wearable crafts, pose in a photo booth, and more! Costumes are encouraged but not required.

"TEA REX" Party with Dinoman! The Great Falls Discovery Center - Great Hall, Friday, November 3, 3:30-4:30pm.
With special guest Dinoman! How do we know dinosaurs were here? What is a fossil? How are they made? This program is fun and informative for all ages. No Registration necessary. Yummy snacks and humongous, inflatable dinosaurs! This event was made possible by The Friends of the Montague Public Libraries and in collaboration with the GF Discovery Center.
