Although the Montague mask mandate has lifted, we encourage patrons who visit the library to wear a mask in an effort to protect the unvaccinated and immunocompromised.

All three libraries are open regular hours. No appointments necessary. Curbside services are available during open hours.

How it works - The details here are tentative and could change at any time. We will keep you posted.

STEP 1: Place items on hold

Choose ONE of the following methods:

  • Log-in to your library account on C/WMARS and request items yourself.

  • Call the library

  • Email through the website

STEP 2: Wait for confirmation that your items are ready for pick-up

  • You will be notified via email or phone when your hold is ready.

STEP 3: Schedule your curbside pick-up appointment

  • Before you can pick up items that you’ve been notified are ready, you need to schedule a specific time slot. Call the library (phone numbers for each branch listed above) to schedule your pickup time.

STEP 4: Pick up your items
After confirming your time slot, arrive at your pickup location sometime within that period, and you will find your items outside the library, checked out and ready to be picked up.

  • Holds will be left in labeled paper bags.

Boston Public Library eCard: Sign up for a free BPL eCard to access many digital resources for kids and adults. Resources for kids include learning databases, language learning (Little Pim), TumbleBookLibrary, and TumbleMath.
