Library Trustees

The Montague Public Libraries Trustees oversee and support library operations. We welcome your input! Find more info below about how to contact us or attend any of our meetings, and learn about our plans to apply for state funding for a building project.

Current members and meetings

We meet monthly, generally on the fourth Monday, and our meetings are open to any interested public. Follow the above link to the Town's Library Trustees page for meeting details and agendas, contact info, members list, bylaws, committee files, archived minutes, and more.

Building project

The Montague Public Libraries are applying for state funding to expand the Carnegie Library or build a new library in downtown Turners Falls.

Strategic plan

Our five-year strategic plan for 2023–2028 is the result of a 9-month vigorous process. Library Director Caitlin Kelley worked with the Trustees' Special Services Committee to solicit community input, define library priorities, and translate them into goals, objectives, and actions.

Library policies

The Trustees review written library policies, as put forth by the Library Director and the Strategic Planning Committee, to ensure that they reflect community needs and interests. MPL has policies for borrowing, interlibrary loan, internet use, library behavior, and more.
