Millers Falls Branch Library Food Pantry

Patrons can access and take home a variety of canned goods, frozen foods, and fresh produce during regular branch hours: Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

While most food is provided by the Food Bank of Western Mass, the pantry is also supported by the Friends of the Montague Libraries, Drawdown Montague, the FRCOG, and a collaborative grant funded by the United Way, in partnership with the Brick House and Red Fire Farm.

Common Questions

Anyone in need can take food from the pantry, no questions asked. Some items, labeled "USDA," are specifically for folks on a limited income. No identification or proof of income is required.

Because we are a member site of the Food Bank of Western Mass, we need to keep track of how much food we distribute to different households each month.

If you use the food pantry, please check in with Jake at the circulation desk and fill in a quick sign-in form.  All we need to know is your first name, how many people live in your household, and whether you have used the pantry before. We will not ask for verification of any kind.

Jake can also let you know if you qualify for the USDA foods.  Again, no identification is necessary.

Yes! Absolutely. We are happy to accept non-expired, unopened, unspoiled and undamaged canned goods, packaged foods, and even produce from your garden.
