Happy New Year, Montague!
Whether you have a list of resolutions that you’re determined to keep or you just want to find some quality materials to get you through the coldest months of the year, the Montague Public Libraries have something for everyone.
In addition to our collection of books, audiobooks, DVD’s, and Library of Things items, we also have a deep bench of digital offerings. Crafters and tinkerers of all kinds can learn new skills and find instructions and patterns for new projects on Craftsy, available through the Libby app. Folks looking for their next great read can find read-alikes and reading lists on NoveList Plus. Patrons exploring their family history can stop by the library and add to their research with Ancestry Library Edition. Streaming service, Kanopy, offers free access to a variety of movies, shows, and documentaries, including The Great Courses.
In addition to these offerings, I’m happy to share that Montague has added a second streaming service, Biblio+, to our digital collection. This ad-free streaming service is available for free with a Montague Public Libraries card and can be accessed from your computer, phone, smart TV, or tablet. Biblio+ features a curated library of TV series, documentaries, and films, including an extensive collection of BBC programs, and there are no limits on how many things you can stream in a month. (Yes, you can binge all of Wallander this weekend!) For help using Biblio+, stop by the Carnegie Library this Friday, 1/2, at 1:00PM for Library Learning Lab.
As usual, we have a full calendar of programs this month for families, adults, and teens. Highlights include our new Youth Astronet program; a reading by children’s author, Prudence Marsh; a cooking demonstration by a coordinator from the Food Bank of Western Mass; a reading by local author, Bruce Watson; and our Winter Wonderland Family Fun day.
Happy reading!
Caitlin
