June 2025 Newsletter Teaser image

Happy June, Montague!

I’m very excited to announce that after tons of behind the scenes work and much fiddling, our new website is up and running! Patrons can now register for programs through our new calendar AND book study and meeting spaces through the meeting module. The funding for the website was provided by a Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities grant from the American Library Association (ALA).

The libraries are offering several new programs this month. We’re partnering with the Brick House on both a job search workshop for teens and younger adults on June 5th (at the Brick House) and on a regular Community Resource Assistance program, which will allow patrons to meet with a service provider one-on-one to sign up for services like SNAP and WIC at the Millers Falls Branch Library. The Millers Falls Branch Library will also feature a watercolors workshop, led by former Library Assistant, Melinda Georgeson, June 5 and 12 AND a second lecture, on the surprising history of the branch, by Will Quale. On Fridays at the Carnegie Library we’re hosting a new Dungeons and Dragons club and Montague Center will host a bag-making workshop on June 23rd.

Finally, have you ever wanted to work in a library? We’re hiring two Substitute Library Assistants and a part-time Community Relations Coordinator. You can find details and application information on the town’s employment page.

Happy reading,

Caitlin
